    The 3R Blues

      MP3 at http://www.bobbyboogaloo.com/words.htm

Lyrics by Dr. Haley Simons- Music by Booby Boogaloo (Bob Cook)

"This song goes out to our very best hostess - Mother Nature herself! We only have one planet, and it's up to each and all of us to take care of her the best that we can. If we each do our part, it can add up very fast to one very-well-cared-for planet. After all, if we take care of Mother Nature - MOTHER NATURE TAKES CARE OF US!!!"

I can turn off the lights, when I leave the room
I can ride my bike, and cut down on car fumes
I can turn off the taps, watch the water I use
I can recycle the metal and plastic and bottles and
    paper that makes the news
    Mother Nature, you're the one I choose . . .
I say recycle, reduce, and reuse - that's the 3R Blues

I can close the fridge door, don't let those CFC's out
I can clean up my streets and parks, clean all the litter out
I can fix things, instead of throwing them away
I can do whatever it takes to make sure nature stays
    Mother Nature, you're the one I choose . . .
I say recycle, reduce, and reuse - that's the 3R Blues

I say reduce, recycle, and reuse
I say reduce, recycle, and reuse
I say reduce, recycle, and reuse
Cause that's the 3R Blues (repeat)

Five Man Electrical Band's  "I'm a Stranger Here".  This is someone's You Tube video of it:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeVhhHRDcQU.  It made an impression on me as a pre-teen.

  • I'd Love to Change the World

Posted By Annik on 4/19/2010 9:26:02 AM

I'd Love to Change the World by 10 Years After

    Everywhere is freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies, tell me where is sanity
Tax the rich, feed the poor
Till there are no rich no more?

I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

    Population keeps on breeding
Nation bleeding, still more feeding economy
Life is funny, skies are sunny
Bees make honey, who needs money, Monopoly

I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

    World pollution, there's no solution
    Institution, electrocution
Just black and white, rich or poor
Them and us, stop the war

I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

    Hi EcoSuperior Friends :)

Xavier Rudd's song Messages MUST be included in this list... the lyrics will are stunning

    So now come sit down
Will you talk with me now
And let me see through your eyes
Where there is so much light
    We are biding our time
    For these myths to unwind
For these changes we will confront

So please be aware with every
    Place that you herald
    And look to your soul
For these things that you know
For the trees that we see
    Cannot forever breathe
With the changes they will confront

    CHORUS:
You know some people they just won't understand
    No, they just won't understand
    These things
Thank you for your message but I don't understand
    No they just won't understand
    These things

    And this sacred land
    It has seen many hands
    It has wealth and gold
Now it is fragile and old
And now the greedy souls just don't care to know
Of the changes it will confront

    So speak out loud
Of the things you are proud
And if you love this coast
Then keep it clean as it evolves
Because the way that it shines
    May just dwindle with time
With the changes it will confront

    CHORUS:
You know some people they just won't understand
    No, they just won't understand
    These things
Thank you for your message but I don't understand
    No they just won't understand
    These things

    So hold nice and close
Once you get to your soul
So that when it is cold
    You won't feel so alone
'Cause the roads that you take
    May just crack and break
With the changes you will confront

With each gift that you share
    You may heal and repair
    With each choice you make
    You may help someone's day
Well I know you are strong
    May your journey be long
And now I wish you the best of luck
Well I know you are strong
    May your journey be long
And now I wish you the best of luck.

    CHORUS:
You know some people they just won't understand
    No, they just won't understand

    Another great green song is:

Reverence and Ridicule by Layah Jane from her CD Grievance and Gratitude

Link to play it from the website -  http://www.layahjane.com/media/song.php?id=22

    Video on YouTube -  http://www.youtube.com/layahjanemusic#p/u/4/r7cOU6DRqfw

    Lyrics:

    chorus:
    says she
    “you all must be
the change you wish to see”
if I talk my speak but my walk is weak
show me just how to be
the change I  wish to see

I endeavour to shed light on blindness
speak my mind with patience and kindness
you know what I’m doing, I’m scoping for hope
there’s no better time to share how we cope
if it’s not our own Mama Earth’s timeline
we all have our own steady rate of decline
to use as a context for our worry
tell me, with one more day would you slow down or hurry?

    chorus

give me a green, green valley and a clean, clean lake
    a solar-powered homestead so I don’t take
more than my share, of what is there
I’ll make a ginger tea to soothe me
dance to music that moves me
it’s amazing just what can be found
when you stand bare-feet firmly planted on the ground
it’s crazy just what you feel
when you stop long enough to uncover what’s real
    blessings and beauty abound
in this life on this planet so fertile and round

    chorus

it’s a battle uphill on a slippery slope
when there’s no woman in this business who has not been groped
by the hand of the industry’s standard of disguise
we are curling our lashes, instead of seeing through lies
how cute do we look in our brand-name clothes?
is that what sells our records over how our music flows?
what do we activate, multiple, replicate?
are you taking care with your share?
are you waxing clever, or highlighting your hair?

    chorus

you can keep your radio song
take the next one too when it comes along
crafting your chorus for top dollar
the burden of your choices pressing your collar
I wonder sometimes if I have it in me
the resilience it takes to not let it win me
    is my skin too thin?
or has it grown thicker since I chose to begin
this journey of projection of sound
we make in a room when there is no one else around
if I cannot get where I want to go
without stepping on my sisters who also want to grow
then this is not for me
    I’ll take my thin-skinned integrity
over pushing and shoving to win the
    audience we so greedily seek
if all of us were listening, what would you speak?

    chorus

if all those with mass distribution
were using their power for peaceful revolution
I would rest easy in my bed
I would drain all the worry from my weary head
but, no, in my own tiny corner of this place
I am working to define my own little space
if I cause someone to feel a little deeper
walk on the path that’s just a little bit steeper
perhaps I have done what I can
maybe my mission went as planned…

what do you have at the end of your day?
are you loving as wide as you can in your way?
what would you scrawl down, what would you say
    if I
    hit
    play?
