Your mom knows what's best for you, and the planet!
Hello honey, how are you? Have you met someone yet dear?
Your father and I were talking the other day although I’m not sure if your dad was actually awake. We were talking about what it was like when you were little. Do you remember walking to and from school and that when you were 10 years old you told us you were old enough to walk on your own?
Well what happened to those days I asked your father, although there was no response from him as he was in the bathroom by this time. How come we don’t see many kids walking to school anymore? They look big enough to make it by themselves but so many of them are being driven by their parents! Will they melt if it rains? Is it really more dangerous nowadays? The only danger I see is the number of parents in the school zone. The poor kiddies who do walk or bike to school have to run the gauntlet of parked cars, passing cars and school buses. Do these parents not realize that they are making it more dangerous for the kids to get to and from school? Its crazy I said to your father! Of course he agreed with me or let out a snore, I’m not sure which.
I remember how much you used to love to walk to school with your friends. You were getting exercise, fresh air, socializing and learning to be responsible. Don’t the parents of today want the same for their kids? We are raising a generation of pampered pooches I say!
I have to go now dear, your dad is calling for more toilet paper. I love you and don’t forget to stand back from the microwave when it’s on.

It's all about dodging cars when you walk/bike by a school at the end of the day. I don't see why parents need to drive their kids. Taxes pay for the bus, use that!
