McVicar Creek Educational Stream Walk
Tuesday, May 22nd 7-8pm (rain date May 23rd)

Meeting Location: Grandview Arena Parking Lot (Madeline St. at Theresa St.)

EcoSuperior and the Thunder Bay District Stewardship Council will host an educational stream walk along McVicar Creek. This creek is lined by several residential properties, providing opportunities to highlight best practices, damaging practices, and everything in between.  

Participants will receive a package of related resource materials.

Topics to be covered include: aquatic life in the stream (benthic macro-invertebrates and fish) and how they are affected by water quality changes from human impacts; best-practises shoreline management; and general practises for all citizens to protect waterways (reducing runoff, pollution prevention, pet waste, litter, cigarette butts, etc.).
