This community project needs you!
Do you enjoy gardening, community service, and have an interest in learning about natural approaches to managing rainfall? Spend some time outdoors in Castlegreen housing Co-operative! We are seeking volunteers on September 13 & 14 to help plant a large rain garden and install rain barrels as part of a green infrastructure project in the community. Shifts can be a full or half day. Each day begins with an orientation at 9 a.m. and runs until approximately 4:30 p.m.
Check out video footage from our last volunteer work day on August 23-24.
Volunteers will be provided with a light breakfast (coffee, tea, muffins) and a lunch. Participants are asked to bring a refillable water bottle, close-toed shoes or work boots, and to dress for the weather (i.e. rain gear, hat, sunglasses). Castlegreen Co-operative is located off of Wardrope Ave north of the Thunder Bay Expressway between Balsam St and Red River Rd.
Come be part of a unique initiative, and a first-ever community green infrastructure project in the city! To sign up, contact Julia at 624-2143 or ecosuperior%23org|Julia with your preferred date and time.
