Family Fun & Interactive Learning

Join us on Sunday, March 26th in the Baggage Building Arts Centre to celebrate Canada Water Week from 12 pm – 4 pm. This free family event includes face painting, escape game challenges, free movies & popcorn and more!

  • Kids can earn a Water Smart Certificate by visiting exhibitors, and then enter to win great prizes!
  • Test your escape game detective skills to solve puzzles that open locks for your chance to WIN!
  • Learn about water conservation and how to protect our lakes, rivers and streams.
  • Discover how drinking water is cleaned and piped from Lake Superior to your house.
  • Test your knowledge about tap water.
  • See water bugs through a microscope.
  • Learn about rain gardens and how you can help protect urban streams.
  • Pledge to protect the Great Lakes watershed by putting your fingerprint on the map!
  • Win prizes playing Lake Superior Fish bingo and learn about our native fish.

Activities are family oriented so come discover, learn and play together!

  Water Treatment Plant Tour - March 23rd, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm

Ever wondered how Thunder Bay’s water is treated or how often our water gets tested each year? When you turn on the tap in Thunder Bay every drop is Superior! Find out how water gets from Lake Superior to your home and celebrate Canada Water Week with a tour of the Bare Point Water Treatment Plant. Transportation is provided so call EcoSuperior at 624-2140 for the pickup location and to reserve your seat on the bus.
