Greening Your Grounds
Hands-On Sustainability Series Workshop
Greening Your Grounds: A Homeowners Guide to Stormwater Landscaping Projects
Get ready to add interesting, innovative and beautiful design elements to your yard! Rain gardens, rain barrels, sump pumps and other stormwater management technologies work to conserve and clean fresh water when it falls on urban landscapes. This workshop will show you cost-effective projects that reduce untreated runoff flowing into storm drains and improve lot-level drainage. Learn how to create naturalized landscapes that add functional appeal to your property and support native biodiversity. Current program incentives will be discussed, including the Rain Garden Rebate and the Drainage Rebate Program.
EcoSuperior and the Thunder Bay Public Library invite you to the fourth workshop in our transformative and practical Hands-On Sustainability Series…monthly workshops to provide how-to help and a supportive environment for people who want to start integrating smart sustainable choices into everyday living, at home, at school and at work. The series is free and open to all.
Workshop 4 includes:
- What is stormwater and how does runoff impact our environment?
- Landscaping projects to green your grounds
- Current program offerings and incentives to help you take action
Date: Wednesday, April 18 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
