Lake Superior Day

 Lake Superior Day was started in the early 1990s to highlight the importance of this great water body to the basin's environment and economy.

 

Lake Superior Day Discovery Bike Ride  

10:00am, Meet at the band shell

Join Safe Cycling instructors for a supported 10 km family bike ride from Marina Park to Fisherman's Park, following the bike lanes on Court Street. Estimated return at 11:30am

Tai Chi by the Lake

10:30am, Taiji Park

Join Master Peng and experience the joy of practicing Tai Chi by the lake. No experience necessary. All ages welcome.

Water offering

12:00pm, Meet outside Mariner's Hall

Join Water Walker Grandmother Josephine Mandamin to honour Lake Superior

Special Guests: Mike Link & Kate Crowley of Full Circle Superior

Presentations in Mariner's Hall

12:30pm: The story of the trek: 2503km around Lake Superior

1:30pm: Guided Lake Walk - Join Mike & Kate for a guided walk along the waterfront. Approximately 1 hour in length.

3:00pm: Reflections, Lessons, & Concerns

 

Artist Market: Through the Lens of the Lake 

12pm-4pm, Baggage Building Arts Centre 

 Photography, acrylic, mixed media, fabric art & more. See how local artists are inspired by Lake Superior.

Family Activities

12pm-4pm

Explore the Canadian Coast Guard boat and enjoy a water-themed treasure hunt, arts & crafts, sidewalk chalk mural, face painting, and more! Bring the kids and come to play beside the lake!
