  • pet and livestock wastes
  • pesticides and fertilizers

Test well water regularly
  • Test water for bacteria at least three times a year.  This free service is available at the OAHPP Lab on S Syndicate Ave.  Sample bottles are available at our office, 212 Miles St E.
  • Test periodically for metals and minerals and other suspected contaminants.  ALS Lab on Barton St conducts these tests on a ‘fee for service’ basis.

Decommission unused wells properly

An unused well can act as a funnel, allowing surface water to enter the aquifer.

Have unused wells properly decommissioned by a licensed well contractor .
