Spring Up to Clean Up

Program Update

Registration is now open for the 28th annual Spring Up to Clean Up campaign!

Join us for the entire month of May. Put trash in its place and help keep our city clean, green, and beautiful.

Ways to Participate

Community and family groups: Organize a group of friends and/or family to collect litter around your block, at your favourite green space or shoreline area, or plan a neighbourhood-wide cleanup. Get creative and plan a walking or hiking adventure while picking up litter.
Workplaces, organizations, and clubs: Plan a time to get together and clean up the area around your workplace, business, church, community center, or club. Cleanups are a great team-building activity that will benefit your group and the environment!
Schools: Get students together for a schoolyard cleanup or supervised clean up in the area around the school property. Teach students the harms of litter in our environment and inspire environmental stewardship.

Note: By submitting your photo, you consent to EcoSuperior using the photo for program promotion. Parent or guardian consent is necessary for any photos containing minors. If your photo contains minors, please complete this photo release form. If it is discovered that you entered without consent from the parent or legal guardian, the entries will be void.

Photo contest (open to all participants): We want to see how you Spring Up! Send us your best clean-up photo that shows community spirit, love of nature, or your most creative Spring Up pose! Include a brief description of your picture in the email. Photo submissions will be judged by quality and creativity.

Business contest (open to businesses and organizations): Show off your organization's clean-up skills and inspire others to join you. Share a photo of your clean-up crew for a chance to win prizes and have your business featured on our website and social media.

Data collection contest (open to all participants who submit a completed data sheet): Fill out and submit datasheet to be entered in a random draw for a prize.

Participate by filling out the data card, and:

emailing photos of the front and back to rethinkingwaste@ecosuperior.org
dropping the data sheet off at EcoSuperior

School contest (open to participating schools): every teacher that registers for Spring Up this year will be entered to win a pizza party for their class (up to 30 students) and a gift certificate to a local educational supplies store

Spring Up Events

Launch with the Bay and Algoma neighbourhood at Nook.

Thursday, May 2^nd at 10:30 am

Spring Up 2024 officially launches this year with our friends from the Bay and Algoma neighbourhood! Join us in the Nook parking lot to celebrate the start of the 28^th annual Spring Up to Clean Up for a neighbourhood clean-up followed by refreshments.

Wrap-Up Party with Sleeping Giant Brewery

Thursday, May 30^th at 4:30 pm

Join us on Thursday, May 30^th for a final clean-up and wrap-up party for the 2024 Spring Up to Clean-Up Campaign. The event starts at 4:30 pm with a clean-up around the brewery followed by pizza and refreshments. Participants will have a chance to win a prize pack. Registration is required for this event. Every person attending the event must register.
